Why Join ASME as a Student?

Get Access to the e-Library including journals, publications, articles just for students, and the ME Today e-newsletter .

The e-Library has over 75 volumes covering topics from heat transfer, fluid mechanics, material selection and nanotechnology. The articles make excellent sources for lab reports and research papers.

Network with Industry Professionals

Clemson ASME has regular meetings featuring guest speakers from various industries and sponsors local facility tours at locations such as BMW and Club Car. Greenville ASME section has regular events that are free for student members to attend. These are great opportunities to build a network of contacts that could lead to scholarships, internships or full-time jobs! Members also gain access to ASME Peer Link, a networking site exclusively for ASME members.

ASME's flagship publication provides an in-depth view of the latest technologies and is always a good read.

Join a Project

Clemson ASME members are welcome to join any of our current projects or even start their own. Getting involved is a great way to help build your resume!


Honors Cord for Graduation

If you are a student member of our chapter for at least 2 years, you will be given an ASME honors cord to wear at your graduation ceremony.

How to Join

Complete these 4 easy steps:

1.Become an ASME National Member HERE

Free for freshman/first year students OR $25 annually post-first year. Be sure to note your member number as you will need it for step two.

2. Complete the Clemson ASME Membership Form

3. Request to join ASME on Tiger Quest

You must sign in with your Clemson username and password in order to request to join. Once you have completed this step, you will receive a Welcome email from us with some overview information on who we are, what events we have coming up, details about our communication platform (Slack), and more!

4. Pay the $5/semester chapter membership fee at the first event you attend.

You can pay for up to two semesters at a time. This can be paid using cash or card.
