History
Founded in 1880, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers is a professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community. ASME and its 130,000+ members from 151 countries conduct one of the world's largest technical publishing operations, hold technical conferences worldwide, and offer hundreds of professional development courses each year. ASME sets internationally recognized industrial and manufacturing codes and standards that enhance public safety.
Vision
To be the premier organization for promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences to our diverse communities throughout the world.
Mission
To promote and enhance the technical competency and professional well-being of our members and through quality programs and activities in mechanical engineering, better enable its practitioners to contribute to the well-being of mankind.
Core Values
Nurture and treasure the environment and our natural and man-made resources
Facilitate the development, dissemination and application of engineering knowledge
Promote the benefits of continuing education and of engineering education
Respect and document engineering history while continually embracing change

"Hey, I'm Cam, and I am a junior. I chose mechanical engineering because it allows me to explore physical phenomena and have a more creative outlook on math and science. I am in the surf club and on the Clemson sailing team. I can't wait for an exciting year of ASME. Go Tigers!

"Hey, I'm Thomas and I’m a sophomore. When I graduate, I hope to go more towards the Aerospace industry. I am currently in Clemson Rocket Club, Sailing Club, and Clemson Fly Fishing. I really enjoy doing all kinds of things outdoors and I’m very excited for the events coming up this semester with ASME."
Sally Abdelnabi
Hometown: Greenville, SC
My name is Sally Abdelnabi, and I'm from Greenville, SC. I serve as treasurer and community advocate of our student chapter. This past summer, I interned at GE Gas power as a Lab Calibration Engineer. A fun fact about me is that I'm bilingual: I speak Arabic!

"Hi! My name is Ashley and I am a Sophomore. Along with ASME, I also participate in Flying Club, Silver Wings, and Kappa Delta Sorority. I decided to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering because I love airplanes and the science behind them. Mechanical Engineering will allow me to explore the world of aviation and gain experience in learning how airplanes work and how to work with them to make them even safer and more efficient. A fun fact about me is that I am currently training to get my pilot's license!
I am looking forward to being this year's event coordinator!

Aiden Tombuelt
Hometown: Spartanburg, SC
My name is Aiden Tombuelt, and I am a junior Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Physics from Spartanburg, SC. I am also pursuing a Departmental Honors degree through my research with Dr. Redmond on Bulk Metallic Glass. Outside of ASME, I am the president of Engineering Without Borders and involved with Clemson Experimental Forest Trail Runners, Tau Beta Pi, and Grand Challenge Scholars. I also enjoy training for endurance races and reading a lot of books.
