Clemson Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (CSIOP)
CSIOP is Clemson University’s chapter of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, dedicated to advancing professional development, networking, and community engagement. Founded by Clemson’s I-O Psychology graduate students, CSIOP is open to all graduate and undergraduate students in affiliated departments, as well as interested community members.
We coordinate a variety of events each year—including professional development workshops, speaker panels, and social gatherings—and publish a semesterly newsletter that highlights member achievements and interests. Each spring, CSIOP also hosts a reception at the national SIOP conference, bringing together students, alumni, and professionals in the field.
For undergraduate members, CSIOP offers unique opportunities to explore and prepare for careers in I-O psychology. Our monthly First Fridays events feature guest speakers, skill-building workshops (such as data analysis crash courses), and resume/CV critiques—helping students build practical skills, expand their networks, and clarify career paths.
We also run a mentorship program that pairs undergraduates with current graduate students, providing guidance on graduate school applications and career planning. Since our graduate mentors have recently gone through the process themselves, they offer invaluable insights and support to help undergraduates take the next step in their academic and professional journeys.
Our mission is to foster a supportive community where members can grow academically, professionally, and socially, while contributing to the broader field of I-O Psychology.
