Engineering and Industrial Technology Education: Engineering and Industrial Technology Education or "Tech Ed" is an elective course providing students instruction in technical career areas. Students will participate in problem-based learning utilizing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) principles. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge through various hands-on activities with computer and shop-based projects. The Engineering and Industrial Technology lab presents students with the opportunity to explore and produce quality products. Instructional areas will include proper use of machine and hand tools, safety, technical reading and drawing, measurement, principles of design, materials science, and industry-standard computer software.
Discipline and Behavior
Due to the nature of this curriculum, students may be using some hand and power tools along with some delicate or expensive equipment. Students will be expected to follow strict guidelines in the use of class equipment and expected to behave appropriately at all times. It is important to emphasize the importance of listening and following directions to ensure success in this class and the safety of all present.
