Before you can begin tutoring, you must meet the following requirements:
TRACKING YOUR HOURS:
All A+ hours must be tracked on the A+ Timesheet. Please make sure to turn in your timesheets on a consistent basis so we can have an up to date count of your hours.
There are Six main ways to earn hours:
As a freshman, you only have one option:
Job Shadowing (Packet Link)
Must be approved by the A+ Principal
Must be non-paid
Cannot directly observe a family member
A maximum of 12.5 hours can be applied toward the state's requirement of 50 hours.
We are currently working on partnering with local businesses and agencies that will participate with us. Sophomore year and up (If meeting A+ requirements listed above) can complete options 1-6:
A+ Tutoring

You sign up one semester at a time to travel to DuBray or one of our feeder elementary schools
It could be once a week or more
Is after school only
On "D-Days", tutoring is only available only at East High.
5th Grade Camp Counselor
There is an application process
Limited space- competing against other students
Great way to get most of your hours
3 - 4 days during the day
You would miss school during these days and are responsible for making up missed work and coordinating with coaches if in an afterschool activity.
Students are responsible for their own transportation
A+ Allies
If a student has a study hall, they can use this time to be an Ally in an assigned class to earn hours towards tutoring.
Helps assist the assigned teacher by providing positive peer support as a tutor.
Allows flexibility for students if study hall time use is needed.
Peer Mentor
Students give up an academic unit/class to be assigned a class to mentor students.
Maybe in a General Ed setting or a Special Ed setting
Will be given the training needed to help support students
Safety Town
Application through the O’Fallon Police Department
Applications starting 03/01 - forms are in the A+ office and main office.
The application deadline is 04/03
This opportunity will be over the summer
There are three sessions:
6/5/23 - 6/16/23
6/19/23 - 6/30/23
7/10/23 - 7/21/23
There are two time slots 9:00am - 11:30am or 12:30 - 3:00pm
Limited spots- you will be competing against others for a placement.
Students are responsible for their own transportation.
7. In-District Camps
If you are assisting your coach with a youth camp, email Mrs. Musgrove or Mrs. Fitzpatrick for approval.
It must be on a Fort Zumwalt campus and supervised by a Fort Zumwalt District Employee.
Examples include:
Band / Orchestra Camp
Sports Camp
8. Summer reading, ESY, and STEAM programs throughout elementary schools and early childhood Education Building.
Contact Mrs. Musgrove or Mrs. Fitzpatrick for a placement
Students must provide their own transportation
9. PPI, Leader in Me, and FZEiAm Peer Mentoring
Get involved with PPI, Leader in Me, and FZEiAm to earn time while having fun and helping have a positive impact on your East High Community!
