These are the actors and actresses who are participating in Help Desk.
Madeline King (known as Maddie to most and Madds to few) is playing both the role of Angel and the role of Tamara. She has enjoyed trying out acting during this production, although she misses her old techie roles. This is her first high school show acting, but she has helped out backstage with musicals Mary Poppins, Tarzan, Cinderella, Annie, one act Lafayette No. 1, and Bad Auditions… On Camera. Madeline likes to read, write, make art, play musical instruments, and build things out of other things. She wants to thank her family and friends for being so supportive, and everyone who has helped keep drama running this year!
James is a junior in high school and playing the role of Jerry in the play Help Desk. He most enjoyed getting into his character for the show. He has previously been in the plays Shrek, Marry Poppins, Tarzan, Cinderella, and Annie. He enjoys reading and playing tabletop games and would like to thank his mother for being accommodating in these trying times.
Laurel Coleman is very excited to have the role of Brooke in Help Desk. This is her eighth BFA Dramatic Arts Ensemble production. In the past, she has had ensemble and small named roles in Mary Poppins, Tarzan, Cinderella, The Yellow Boat, and Annie. She helped with sound for Lafayette Number One, and this year she played Karen Buckman in Bad Auditions On Camera. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, playing guitar and saxophone, knitting, and hanging out with friends. While this year has been weird, and doing a play over Zoom can have its difficulties, Laurel is just grateful for the opportunity to do a show. She would like to thank her family, especially her sister Lily, for encouraging her to take part in theater. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Christopher is the cinematography director and Tanner in Help Desk. Something that has made this show challenging is that we can't see one another in person. However, it makes it a lot easier to edit and record because he can do it all on 1 device. A few past shows Christopher has been a part of were The Wizard of Oz, and Shakespeare in Hollywood. He is not only an editor and videographer, but also an actor. Christopher chose to take a break from acting and just do cinematography this year. He will also try pretty much any sport.
Mallory is very excited to participate in the production Help Desk as the role of Talula! Doing a show over Zoom is hard, but Mallory has really enjoyed being a part of it all. Mallory participated in a couple of elementary drama productions and she really enjoyed it! She was in a mixed up version of Hansel and Gretel, and Kid Frankenstein. A hobby Mallory enjoys outside of drama is dancing. She has been dancing since she was three. Mallory would like to give a shout-out to all of her friends and family for always supporting her, and most importantly to the drama directors for this amazing opportunity! Enjoy the show!
Julia Thibault is going to be playing the role of Carter. She loves doing anything with theater and so far thinks this has been really fun. The past shows she has been a part of are Marry Poppins, Tarzan, Cinderella, Annie and an all Zoom based play called Bad Auditions. Her interests are hanging out with family and friends, doing art and crafts. She also loves listening to music/musicals.
This year, Wyeth Haddock is playing Vinny in Help Desk. He has had a lot of fun playing with his character, especially considering that it has all been virtual. While this has all been a bit challenging and confusing on zoom, he has found that it’s nothing he can’t handle. Wyeth has participated in theatre since elementary school, most recently portraying Roger in Bad Auditions On Camera, Lord Pinkleton in Cinderella, Eddie in the Yellow Boat, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, and Julien Poydras in Lafayette No. 1. In his free time, Wyeth likes to run and bike, do schoolwork, and eat soup. He would like to thank the producers and directors who have made this challenging show possible. Wyeth would also like to thank you for tuning in to the show!
Lyle Broe has performed with BFA for 4 years, performing in both musicals and the one acts. He is proud to play the part of Watkins in the new play "Help Desk". He would like to thank his co-star, Wyeth, for making this a very fun experience.
Nicholas 'Nic' Torraca is playing the part of Marcus in Help Desk. Nicholas has enjoyed the humor that Marcus has brought to the show. He has been a part of the one act Bad Auditions... On Camera, and the past musical productions of Annie and Cinderella. One of his interests is DND.
Bridget is playing Bailey in Help Desk. It has been an interesting challenge to do the play without being able to see each other in person. In the past, Bridget has been in Once Upon a Remote Control and Kid Frankenstein. She enjoys reading, drawing, and playing soccer. Bridget wants to thank her mom and dad for being very supportive!
Asa is playing the characters Dani and Mabel. She has noticed that everyone is very into their character in this performance. Other shows that she's been in are Once Upon A Remote Control. Some hobbies that she likes to do in her free time are figure skating, singing, and painting. She’d like to thank her family for helping her do this.
Alden Kalbfleisch will be playing the role of Preston in Help Desk. Alden has enjoyed listening to all the little stories but has found acting on zoom difficult. Some previous shows Alden has been in are Annie, Cinderella, Tarzan, Yellow Boat, and Lafayette No. 1. His hobbies are Drama and Music. Alden really likes cheeseburgers.
Maddie Slocombe plays the characters Monique and Vic. She thinks Help Desk has been incredibly fun and that it’s such a funny script. Getting to be two characters that have completely different personalities has been challenging but great! Shows that she's been involved in in the past are Shrek, Mary Poppins, Tarzan, Cinderella, Anne, The Yellow Boat, and Bad Auditions. Some things that she likes are snowboarding, anime, music, spending time with her dog, taekwondo, and videogames. To her dog: Hi Sophie! Thank you for being her best friend! This year was interesting because typically for one acts like these she would be the lights person but she gets to be an actor this year which is really fun.
Finn Benedict is very excited to be playing Boffo the clown. He likes being the clown at the help desk! It's a lot like his last role as Rory the Chicken Man in Bad Auditions... On Camera. In the past, he has also been a part of the 3rd and 4th grade drama program. He enjoys video games, drawing, reading, and lacrosse. Shout out to Payton, Finn is so glad that he is back at BFA.
Alaina is extremely excited to be playing the roles of Tori and Jess in the virtual production of Help Desk. Virtual shows are very different from what the drama club is used to doing, but Alaina loves the challenge and is glad that she and the rest of the dramatic arts ensemble can still perform. She has been in many past productions, portraying an ape in Tarzan, a townsperson in Cinderella, and Mrs. Pugh, Oliver Warbucks’ chef in Annie. She also participated in elementary drama. Alaina’s hobbies outside of drama include dance, singing in chorus, playing her flute in band, spending time outside, and reading for hours on end. She would like to thank her family, friends, and directors for always supporting her and pushing her to be the best actress she can be. She is looking forward to the production, and hopes you enjoy the show!
Quincy is a 10th grade Homeschooled student. She’s excited to be playing the roles of Masha and Chase in this production of Help Desk. Quincy loves to sing, play her various instruments and compose music. She enjoys spending time in the woods or up a tree, trains at a karate dojo, likes weaving, carving and other handcrafts and is working to become an Eagle Scout. Quincy is very glad that we’re able to have drama virtually and is looking forward to when we can act in-person. She played Lt. Ward in Annie last year and wrote and played the role of Rowan in this year’s virtual performance of Bad Auditions… On Camera. Quincy would like to thank her brother, Land, for driving her to and from the school, and Mrs. Maynard for keeping her involved in chorus and drama this year.
Adrienne Antonovich is playing the character Mara in the play this year. She loves that we can still do drama during coronavirus although it has been hard to do it. She has been part of two 4th and 5th grade plays as Hilda in Hoka Poka, and Mrs. Newton in Kid Frankenstein. She also was in Annie as one of the lead orphan Kate. Things Adreinne really enjoys doing in her free time is art, ice skating and, of course, drama.
The most challenging part has been working over Zoom, everything from lighting to poor connections to projecting the character through a screen. The most enjoyable part has been working with the rest of the cast and crew, even though we can’t be in person, it’s been great to be able to have something for drama this year. Land (aka Skippy) has previously participated in the production of Annie in 2019, playing the role of Drake, the butler and Kellin, the dramatic theater actor in Bad Auditions on Camera in 2020. He enjoys snowboarding, acting, playing music, singing and spending time with friends, family and cats. He would like to thank everyone who helped make this show possible.
Madison is thrilled to be playing the part of Brin. She enjoys the opportunity to continue performing, even though it is on a camera rather than a stage. In the past, Madison has played Elizabeth in Bad Auditions... On Camera, the strong women in Cinderella, Eddie's mother in The Yellow Boat, and Catherine Blake in Lafayette No 1. Madison also participated in the musical Annie, playing the alto saxophone in the pit band. She is an all state level saxophone player and has been playing the alto saxophone for 7 years now. Madison would like to thank her Mom for always driving her an hour for saxophone lessons every week, and her grandparents for all they do for her. Madison would also like to thank her sister for always being brutally honest and making her the person she is today.
Andrea Sanders will be playing Charlie this drama production of Help Desk. She thinks tackling this online rodeo again will be a breeze for everyone after how well the group pulled off the last production, Bad Auditions, where she played Evelyn Rosewood the Casting Director. This is her tenth performance with the BFA Dramatic Arts Ensemble. Some of her past and favorite roles include Jane Porter in Tarzan the Musical, Red in The Yellow Boat, and Geo Jackson in Lafayette No. 1. When she is not acting you can normally find her singing, playing piano, or working. She would like to thank her closest friends and family for always being there to support her. She hopes this production goes as well as the last and hopes no one has to call the Help Desk for any tech assistance. Enjoy!
Isabel is very excited to be playing Yamira in the play. One of her favorite things about this show was seeing how other scenes turned out. Isabel has been in the elementary school plays Hansel and Gretel as the Fairy Frogmother, Once Upon A Remote Control as Lady-in-Waiting 4, and in Bad Auditions on Camera, playing Phyllis. She likes to read, do puzzles, play softball, and make music with her family. She also loves the Beatles! He would like to thank his dad.

These are the directors who are helping out with Help Desk.
Julie has been involved in the dramatic arts program at BFA since her youngest daughter (then in 4th grade) desired a venue to perform. The Elementary Drama Club was born and has been hugely popular with elementary students for over 15 years. Moving on from directing the elementary drama club, she then stepped into the shoes as director for the last 10 fall musicals. Although she shares in the disappointment that a musical (Mamma Mia!) could not occur this year, she is very happy that the students who are passionate about drama are getting the chance to connect and perform in some way. She remains in awe at the natural theatrical talent that the students bring to the stage/screen and is honored to be a part of a program that is able to give them the chance to learn and grow and shine.
Sara Villeneuve (aka Ville) is a member of the director team. It has been really exciting to see the creativity of our students and teachers. People have really risen to the challenge and proved to be resilient and creative. She is excited by the energy and enthusiasm of the students. She has been directing one act performances at BFA Fairfax for almost 20 years as well as fall productions before the school started musicals. As a student at BFA Fairfax, she also was in a variety of shows. She loves having students write, direct, and produce the shows in collaboration with the directorial team. Spending time with family and friends is what she looks forward to the most. She loves warm Vermont summers and spending time outside together. Sara loves to travel and see the world. Huge shout out to her family; Craig, Anna and Camden for their willingness to support rehearsal nights and keep the show running at home. Also to all of the students and her colleagues for supporting the arts at BFA Fairfax.
Christy grew up in a small town in Western New York and was raised in a musical family. Her parents had a Rock/Country/ Bluegrass band and they practiced at her home every Wednesday night. It was the highlight of the week for her and soon she was playing the violin and singing. Christy majored in music education/voice at SUNY Fredonia where she had the privilege to sing with the Fredonia Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Donald Lang. While singing with the Chamber Singers, Christy had the opportunity to travel around New York State as well as England, Scotland, and Wales performing concerts at schools, churches, and cathedrals. Christy has taught music in Florida and Vermont. Some of her responsibilities now include teaching Middle and High School Choruses, General Music, taking students to district and all state music festivals, and preparing the singers for the musical. Christy would like to thank the other drama teachers for the new opportunity to work on a play.
Alana Torraca, or Madame Alana has been involved in helping out with coffee houses for the last few years but this is her first time as a director and she is very grateful to Ms. Filiberti, Ms. Villeneuve, and Ms. Maynard for letting her join the team. She has particularly enjoyed watching students grow into their characters week after week, and has been impressed by their dedication to make art happen no matter what. When she isn’t teaching French or helping out with the dramatic arts ensemble, she can be found taiko drumming, walking her dog, or cooking and baking. Her dream role would be to play Puck in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
These are the techies and 'backstage' hands who are helping out with Help Desk.
There is no crew anymore.... it's a ghost ship!
Just kidding.
Madeline and Christopher are still helping out behind the scenes as website manager and chief video editor (respectively). But Madeline doesn't think people will want to read their bios twice, so instead there is a doodle of a boat with ghosts. Enjoy.
