All Grades are kept up to date on the FOCUS Gradebook.

In Art, grades are based on 3 things:

1. Meeting Class Objectives

   1. • Each time they come to my class, we have a new objective that we cover from our curriculum. We also have 2 objectives that we cover every class in every grade level. They are:

        1. 1. We are learning to think and act like Artists using our Studio Habits of Mind.

           2. We are learning to be Respectful and Responsible to Ourselves, Others, and Materials.

2. Following All Directions on Assignments and Assessments

   1. • Directions for all assignments and assessments are always written and posted for students to read. I also always go over the directions verbally and visually, and give students several opportunities to ask questions or get clarification before and during their work time. Students are given as much class time as they need to complete their work correctly.

3. Meeting Class Expectations and Responsibilities

   1. • Class expectations and responsibilities include:

        1. Student's ability to utilize the Studio Habits of Mind when creating their artwork. These are explained on the page What is Choice-Based Art?

        2. Student's choices in following classroom rules and procedures, as well as their Respect Agreement. These are explained on the page Behavior Expectations
