Futuraskolan International Bergtorp offers Grade 6-9. We follow the Swedish National Curriculum and in addition we also utilize the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC). With the IMYC, students are constantly developing and strengthening their skills as well as their knowledge and deeper understandings while broadening their world-wide perspective. During the fall 2018 the school started the transition towards becoming a bilingual school. We currently have ca 35% of instruction in English.
We also make sure that our teachers who work in English and Swedish have their working language as a native language. It is important that the students meet and use both languages daily in different everyday situations, not just during class time.

Futuraskolan International has a strong set of values. The core values that we treasure the most are: Progressiveness, Energy, Respect (PER). Our core values, PER, should be the guiding principles in our daily work as well as in our relationships with the community outside of our organization. PER should characterize our behavior in everything we do no matter how big or small, our actions should emanate from them when we communicate, inform and make decisions – always.
We are Progressive
This means that we are forward-moving, continuously evolving, and visionaries. We keep abreast of the latest developments in education. We only stop to evaluate, and always strive to do things better in the future.
We have Energy
We are creative and we take initiative. We are open-minded and close no doors figuratively or literally. We are engaged and see every problem as an inspiring challenge.
We show Respect
We are receptive, humble and tolerant. We are proud without flaunting it and are clear about what is right and what is wrong. Respect is something earned and something we expect from everyone – students, parents, co-workers and business partners.
In our Global Citizenship Program (GCP), we focus on different areas of communication and societal development. Our aim is to give our students an opportunity to broaden their perspectives by looking into the world through various projects in the form of school collaborations and exchanges and other projects where we learn how people live their lives in other countries and how we can be an active participant in global improvement. Sustainable Development, Global Activism and Cross Cultural Exchange Programs are the core working components of this developmental approach.
We currently have exchanges with;
Bergerac, France.
Vilnius & Kaunas - with Grade 8's as part of NORDPLUS.
Cypress, Italy & Greece - with an Erasmus+ project
Athens, Greece for Grade 9's chosen to participate. This is an organisation wide project with students from all Futuraskolan school attending.
