About Me
Hi, I'm Ms. Twisselman, (AKA Ms. Twiss)
This year is going to be full of fascinating new things to learn and explore, and I could not be more thrilled to spend the year learning with you! I hope you are just as excited to open your mind and enjoy the adventure! In the meantime, I thought you might like to learn a little bit about me!
I live in Alameda with my husband- Stephen, daughter- Chloe, and 2 cats - Tom & Andy. Together, we enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible. From casual strolls by the Alameda shoreline to rock-climbing and backpacking up mountains- this family loves adventure! I also really enjoy traveling, photography, singing, *gluten-free* baking (I'm gluten intolerant) crafting, and drawing in my journals.
I grew up in Salinas, CA and received my BFA in Photography from California College of the Arts. Before teaching, I actually managed an art gallery in the redwood forests of Big Sur! I received my General Education teaching credential from California State University, Monterey Bay. I have taught at Oliveira for 7 years: four years in 3rd grade and three years in 4th grade. This will be my first year teaching 3rd and 4th grades together, and I couldn't be more excited! Each year of learning is a whole new adventure and I will always try to take a creative approach to make our lessons accessible to everyone in our class.
Throughout the year I look forward to helping you explore your strengths and discover new interests along the way. I strive to provide an inclusive academic environment that celebrates individual differences & learning styles, promotes positive behavior, and nurtures social & emotional development.
I look forward to helping you set goals of your own, as we embark on this adventurous school year together!
