Welcome To ELD (English Language Development) Class!

English Language acquisition and development is a vital skill for our young learners.   The ability to understand and communicate with others is essential to the learning process and for social involvement.  Learn about our class and why your child has been chosen to be here by checking out this welcome letter.

Connect With The Teacher - Email

Email is THE BEST way you can reach me this year, and will be the main form of communication I will use for more detailed updates.   Formal school announcements, district-wide information, and Announcements with attachments will be sent out via email.  Please email me if you have any questions, concerns, or updates on your child.  Most emails will be answered within 24 hours, though non-urgent matters may take up to two days.  Thanks for your patience!

Supplies For Class

We do require much at this time.  I will put out a message about special needs we may have as we continue with the school year.  Thanks!

Homework

There is no homework for your child in this class.  However, fluency of language acquisition requires practice, practice, and more practice!  Help your child progress by providing daily speaking and literacy activities at home such as asking the to talk about their day at school, what they learned, and reading together.  Your child does not have to be the reader, they can be the listener as well!  Another way to help is by keeping the closed caption subtitles on television shows and movies for your child to make connections between oral and written words.
