Bar Fun Fun
The classic bar in the Old City, known by the most famous visitors from around the world, was founded on December 12, 1895, by Augusto López. Its walls hold memories through photographs, trophies, and dedications from all those who have passed through. The traditional drink "Uvita," a trademarked brand only served here, accompanies the best tango dancers and singers performing at the bar.
Bar Tabaré
In 1919, Alfredo González opened Bar Tabaré, a true representative of a type of establishment that expanded in the first half of the 20th century. Isolated, at the southernmost point of Montevideo, quietly surrounded by the lighthouse, the house of poet Juan Zorrilla de San Martín, the prison (now converted into a luxury shopping mall), and very few other buildings, it originally began as a neighborhood store and a fisherman's bar. Today, it still carefully preserves its original furniture and architecture. A section of the basement was turned into a venue for various performances, continuing to nourish the bohemian spirit of Tabaré, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2019 and was named one of the world’s top 100 bars.

Montevideo & Pizzorno Winery
The Pizzorno family is in its fourth generation of managing the family legacy, which they continue with the same love and respect for nature that their ancestors had more than a century ago. Carlos Pizzorno has not only taken over the reins but has also managed to maintain the winemaking tradition of his family, while adapting to modern times by applying modern techniques to grape cultivation and winemaking in an effort to maintain enological excellence. Having transformed both the vineyards and the winery, Bodega Pizzorno is truly the perfect example of a rich and prosperous land. Today, Carlos Pizzorno leads a family winery whose members have always believed in this land and, over the years, have worked passionately for their wines.
The winery is located in Canelón Chico, near the Río de la Plata and 20 km north of downtown Montevideo. The exterior will make you feel like you're living in the 20th century because the architecture has been preserved since then, providing many advantages for wine conservation. However, the modern technology acquired is perfectly combined with classic winemaking techniques, ensuring perfect control of the environmental and hygienic conditions. The wines are carefully stored in a unique and special atmosphere: French and American oak barrels, which not only provide stable temperature and humidity conditions but also impart a particular body and aroma, resulting in a range of wines of great quality and personality.
All the vineyards surrounding the winery are hand-cultivated and harvested across the 20 hectares that have been completely transformed. The vineyards are covered with French grape varieties such as Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Arinarnoa, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. These are planted on elevated, limestone-rich soils, which favor balanced harvests and provide excellent grape production.

Be a winemaker for a day and create your own blend.
After seeing the main attractions of the city, enjoy a scenic 35-minute drive through the countryside to visit a local winery located in the renowned wine region of Canelones, known for producing award-winning, high-quality wines.
Unlike Argentina and Chile, Uruguay is a small country filled with family-owned wineries that carry a lot of history and traditions brought by European families. The climate along the Atlantic coast is often compared to that of Bordeaux, France, where wines of exceptional quality with well-balanced alcohol levels and acidity can be found. The Tannat grape, brought from France in the 1870s, produces rich, full-bodied red wines with dark fruit flavors and a spicy character.
Winemakers will guide you through the wine creation process, sharing their passion and enthusiasm. With this experience, you'll have the chance to create your own blend. Working in small teams, you'll experiment with three different varieties of red wines to create the perfect blend for you.
The goal is to define the different percentages of each variety to craft the ideal, completely personalized blend for the group. You'll get to experience firsthand what it feels like to be a winemaker for a day. Each member of the group will take home their own bottle of the wine they created. The workshop will conclude with a delicious lunch and a tasting of fine local wines.
