Are you interested in hiring a hard working dedicated employee who has a desire to work?
You now have the opportunity to work with the Paid Work Experience Programs at Fremont Union High School District. Our staff provides support services and follow up on students. Employers provide us with feedback to continually improve student skills.
A student's success in the working world depends on the collaborative effort between student, school and employer.
Through the use of our Paid Work Experience Programs, the Transition Department partners with various employers in the community - including retail, food service, grocery, fitness and wellness, warehouse, auto care, early childhood development, animal care, and medical facilities to provide students with opportunities for work experience.
The program offers on-the-job training with no employer costs. Employers receive a pool of prescreened workers whore ready for training, as well as employer support services. Students are placed at a worksite for approximately 6 hours per week. All student wages (minimum wage) and liability insurance is provided by FUHSD.
Paid work experience assists student with the transition from school to work, allowing students 16-22 years old to stay in school while developing strong work readiness skills in a safe work environment.
Through support from WorkAbility 1 and Transition Partnership Program, students receive comprehensive vocational assessments, training and work experience.
Students enjoy supportive and competitive worksite placement and follow-up services. They also gain self-esteem, receive worksite supervision and continuing education.
Paid work experience assists student with state and community agencies like the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR).
