Early College FAQs
What is EC?
Early College is a learning community where students work to earn college credits through dual credit or Advanced Placement courses
EC creates a supportive environment where students learn to be self-advocates, independent learners, cooperative group members, college-level thinkers, and effective written and verbal communicators.
What is Dual Credit?
Students in Dual Credit courses earn a high school credit and a college credit at the same time! These courses are taught by teachers who are credentialed to teach both high school and college. Students need to know that the grade earned is posted on their FC transcript as well as a college transcript.
How do I get into EC?
Students apply to EC through an online application
Selection is also based on the student’s reading level, junior high grades, attendance, and citizenship.
Is EC right for me?

You need to be motivated.
How does EC support students?
Freshmen are grouped in English and Geography/History of the World (GHW) so that all students learn the EC skills and attitudes together.
