The Kampaign for Change and the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District for Coastal Cleanup Day at Ledgewood Creek this Saturday!
This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on our environment while earning 4 hours of community service.
Event Details:
Date: 9/20/25 (Saturday)
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (4 hours of community service)
Location: Ledgewood Creek Fairfield CA (201 Hamilton Drive across the street from the DMV and behind Home Depot/Target)
Supplies: All cleanup supplies will be provided.
What to Bring: Please wear protective clothing and shoes suitable for outdoor work.
Waiver: A waiver will be provided at the event for you to sign.

General Volunteer Opportunities for Teens
Interested in local politics? Want to have a say about how things are done in our community? Consider joining the City of Fairfield Youth Commission!
The FYC was established to create opportunities for youth input and involvement in local government. It's made up of 15 Fairfield residents ages 13-19, appointed by the Mayor and the City Council
Teen Volunteers do a variety of jobs at Solano library.
Here’s how to get involved:
Check with the Young Adult Librarian at the branch to see if there are volunteer positions available.
Teen Volunteers need to be at least 12 years old and must complete a special application form (.pdf).
When we receive your application the teen librarian will set up an interview with you.
Please be willing to work shifts of 1-2 hours per week for at least 3-6 months.
Schedules are worked out on an individual basis and may be worked around vacations and other commitments.

The Food Bank welcomes volunteers seeking community service hours for school or other educational projects. Please read the below instructions.
In order to sign up for a shift, all volunteers are required to create a Volunteer Portal account. Once you have registered you may sign up for available shifts found on our volunteer calendar.
Students age 11-15 are required to volunteer with an adult who is registered via our Volunteer Portal. Accompanying adults must register for a shift and add a child 11-15 as their team member. Due to our safety regulations, children age 5-10 are only allowed at our Family Food Sorts. Children under age 5 are not allowed to volunteer.

As a registered volunteer, you may access and print your total volunteer hours via your online Volunteer Portal account.
If you need an official letter verifying your service, please read the following:
Letters verifying service may be requested only after completing all scheduled hours to fulfill your community service requirements.
Volunteer service verifications requested on official letterhead may be requested by emailing volunteerhelpdesk@foodbankccs.org.
Please allow up to 10 business days, after you have submitted your email request, for processing.
Verification letters will be emailed as a pdf. If you need to pick up a hard copy of your letter, you will need to make arrangements by emailing the Volunteer Help Desk at volunteerhelpdesk@foodbankccs.org.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We offer a range of volunteer roles to accommodate various skills, interests, and time commitments. Here are some of the volunteer roles you can consider:
Meal Delivery: Bring smiles and nourishment to our clients by delivering meals to their doorstep. This role ensures our clients stay connected and cared for. (MWF, Occ. T/Th)
Volunteers use their own vehicles to deliver meals. We ask that you report your time and mileage. All mileage is tax-deductible and we will provide you with a letter at the end of the year.
Meal Packing and Sorting: Assist in sorting and packing meals, making sure they are ready for delivery. (M-F)
Office Assistance: Support our administrative tasks, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently. (M-F)
Fundraising and Event Support: Get involved in fundraising events and campaigns to help secure the resources necessary to continue our essential work. (M-F, Occ. Weekends)
