FSMS Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is the varsity ensemble at FSMS. In this ensemble, students read repertoire that is among the most challenging and rewarding literature available to students at the middle school level. The students learn to perform rhythms, meters, and key signatures that were briefly mentioned at the beginner level, and they learn to master the art of sightreading. In this ensemble, the students have the opportunity to demonstrate the most characteristic sound they can produce both as individuals and as a performing group. The Symphonic Band gets to represent FSMS at many performances, such as pep rallies, Big Band Night, the winter and spring concerts, All-Region, UIL, and recruitment events. The ensemble has had many award-winning programs in the past, and it continues the legacy of excellence to this day!
