Lauren Alex

Hello and welcome! My name is Lauren Alex (L.A.) Chase and I will be teaching your child in 3^rd grade this year! I am very excited to get this school year started and begin working with your precious children! J

A little bit about me:

I received my bachelors and masters degree in Deaf Education at the University of North Florida. This is my sixth year teaching, and I can, without a doubt, say that I LOVE what I do. I feel so blessed to be working with such wonderful students every day. I love to travel! I recently traveled to England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland on my honeymoon. I have also been to Greece, Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico, BVIs, and Canada. Outside of school, I spend most of my time surrounded by the people I love, especially my sister, my mom, and my husband, Nick. I love sitting outside in the mornings on my porch, drinking a hot cup of coffee, and reading a book. I love my time alone to think, journal, read, and just enjoy the world around me. My heart belongs to Haiti and Cuba, where I have been many times for missions and was able to spend time with some of the most amazing people and children.

I am also probably the biggest nature enthusiast you will ever meet, from protecting and saving the earth to enjoying all of the beauty, wonder, and secrets Mother Nature has to offer. If it is outdoors, I am there! One of my biggest goals in life is to hike all of the U.S. National Parks. So far my sister and I have backpacked in Mt. Rainier, Olympic, Northern Redwoods, Kings Canyon, Seqouia, Channel Islands, Joshua Tree, Crater Lake, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Carlsbad Caverns, Petrified Forest, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Guadalupe Mtns, Arches, Canyonlands, and Zion National Park.

I am an avid hiker and a practicing yogi, an animal lover, a die hard Georgia Bulldogs fan, a vegetarian, a bookworm, and most important of all, a family person. A fun fact about me is that I am a pilot. I can fly 3 different small aircrafts. I have always said, if I could become an animal, I would be a bird, so flying an airplane is the closest I have come to that, and I have loved every minute of it.

I am looking forward to a great year filled with success stories! Let the adventure begin!
