We will have a snack each morning around 10:00. Your child is encouraged to bring a healthy snack. Students are not allowed to share snacks due to food allergies and our Wellness Policy. Children get very disappointed when they don’t have a snack to eat so please make every effort to pack something each day.
Students should bring a filled water bottle to school each day that can be refilled throughout the day. Reusable water bottles can stay at school.
Students should bring only items from supply list sent at the beginning of the year. They should not bring items from home that would be distracting during the day or have personal value. We have very little space in our desks and items are easily lost or can get in the way of necessary school supplies. Any extra items will be sent home with students.
We do not celebrate birthdays with food or snacks due to food allergies and our Wellness Policy. If you would like to send in something to celebrate your child’s special day, just let us know!
All homework and notices going home can be found in your child’s homework/take-home folder, and this folder should go to and from school each day. Your child also writes assignments in the assignment page of the folder each day. Students usually have a math worksheet and 20 minutes of reading each night. Please check your child's homework folder daily to look for important notices and to help her/him stay accountable for homework. I also appreciate your help in removing any materials that don't need to be returned to school. I thank you in advance for working together to keep your child organized!

Our class has the opportunity to experience technological tools making learning more meaningful and exciting through the use of “Google Drive.” With Google Drive, your child is able to create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. Those files can be edited in school, at home or anywhere else there is an Internet connection. Students are also able to collaborate with classmates on the same files and submit them by using the sharing feature.
To access your child’s Google Drive, first, go to http://www.google.com and click the “Sign In” button. Have your child sign in using the login (with @frsd.us) and password from school. To find and create files on Google Drive click the grid in the upper right corner of the screen and then click the triangle. Once you have signed in to Google, you can also access our Google Classroom by clicking the chalkboard icon.
