About Matt
Matt the Writer
Matt Page is a blossoming writer whose breadth of experience in writing for both professional and creative audiences provides him with a diverse background that allows him to bring effective and proven communication strategies along with creativity, humour, and the outlandish. He has authored complex government documents under strict guidelines and timelines, drafted and published corporate marketing & website content, written short stories for local publications, and helped friends and family with creative and effective Kijiji ads. The latter is where things get outlandish!
Matt's ability to understand tone, messaging, and audience, and then tailor material to clearly and quickly communicate with a voice that best represents his client, is his strongest attribute as a writer. His goal is to put your thoughts and ideas into your own words without ever having to put pen to paper or make a single keystroke.
It might be easier to make a list of the things Matt can't write, but we'll try to cover as much as we can:
- Marketing Materials
- Bid Writing and Proposals
- Scripts and Storyboarding
- Website Content
- Advertising
- Speeches
- Fiction
- Communications & Press Releases
- Articles and Reviews
Matt the Person
Matt is in his thirties, married to his beautiful wife, Susan, father to his son, Vincent, and has two dogs (Zoe and Juno) and a cat (Tiki). He lives and has lived in Ottawa, Ontario his entire life. Matt has a Major in Criminology with a Minor in Sociology and finished one class away from a Major in History from the University of Ottawa. He's worked in Business Development, Recruiting, and Account Management for an IT Professional Services company since 2011.
Outside of family and work, Matt is 5th degree Black Belt in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (although it has been way too long since he's been on the mats), plays video games, and is a terrible Men's League hockey player. His favourite moments are spent with his family and dogs at the cottage or sitting in front of his laptop plunking away on a novel he swears that he'll one day finish.
