Makerspace

What is Makerspace?

Makerspace is a place students gather to think, create, tinker, experiment, build, destroy, and share.

At Frontier, Makerspace is an area of the library available to all students that focuses on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). It offers activities that use a variety of supplies and tools (both high-tech and low-tech) students may not otherwise be exposed to at school.  Students share supplies, skills, and ideas, and often work together on projects.

Makerspace promotes hands-on exploration and self-directed learning. Our MakerSpace will encourage the CDE’s defined “Colorado’s 21st Century Skills” which are integrated into content areas of the Colorado Academic Standards. These skills include critical thinking and reasoning, collaboration, self direction, invention and information literacy.
