Lawmakers passed rules on electronic devices, school clubs and the Ten Commandments. For more details, click here.

📵 No Personal Devices at School

Starting Aug. 13, 2025, and in line with Texas House Bill 1481, Frisco ISD students can’t use personal devices — cellphones, smartwatches, tablets, personal laptops, earbuds and more — during the school day, even at lunch or between classes.

What to know: Students should leave devices at home when possible. If they bring them, devices must stay off and in backpacks from bell to bell. Devices seen, heard or used will be confiscated. All secondary students have a Chromebook to use for schoolwork.

Staying in touch: Students won’t be able to text or call home, so parents will need to call the school office. Staff will deliver urgent messages, and students can check email on their Chromebook.

Who's Who at Vandeventer

Stephanie Taylor, Principal

Ms. Taylor began her career in education in 1997 with Irving ISD after receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. After several years as a teacher and coach, she obtained her master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and continued in Irving as a middle school assistant principal. In 2006, she transitioned to Dallas ISD where she worked in various leadership roles until moving to the Frisco area. The 2024-2025 school-year marks Ms. Taylor's sixth year as the Vandeventer Middle School principal.
