Coach Howe's lesson on identifying the regions of Texas and their geographical differences reflects Vandeventer’s mission of positively impacting and advancing each student every day by engaging students in meaningful learning that builds their knowledge and critical thinking skills. Great job, Coach Howe!

Ms. Jones’s lesson on solving for the prime factorization of a number aligns with Vandeventer’s vision of fostering each student’s greatest potential by challenging students to think critically, apply problem-solving strategies, and build a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning. Way to go, Ms. Jones!

Coach Garcia’s lesson on identifying and analyzing how people adapt to and modify their environment aligns with Vandeventer’s mission of positively impacting and advancing each student every day by engaging learners in critical thinking about human-environment interaction and helping them make meaningful connections to the world around them. District Advisory Council Applications Open!

Frisco ISD is seeking staff members to serve on District Advisory Council committees. These committees advise the School Board and district leaders on topics like school health, safety, legislative priorities, continuous improvement, and more.

Members review district-wide initiatives, provide feedback on educational goals and programs, and may contribute to FISD’s strategic plan while gaining insight into district operations.

Applications are open through August 31. Committee availability varies, and applicants are encouraged to apply for all areas of interest. Learn more and apply here.

What's Happening?

Who's Who at Vandeventer

Stephanie Taylor, Principal

Ms. Taylor began her career in education in 1997 with Irving ISD after receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. After several years as a teacher and coach, she obtained her master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and continued in Irving as a middle school assistant principal. In 2006, she transitioned to Dallas ISD where she worked in various leadership roles until moving to the Frisco area. The 2024-2025 school-year marks Ms. Taylor's sixth year as the Vandeventer Middle School principal.
