Hello Rogers Families,
My name is Sylvia Wade and I am the new School Nurse at Rogers. I am excited to be a new member of the Rogers staff, but I'm not new to Rogers. I have been a part of the Rogers Family since 2012. In the summer of 2012, my family moved from Bright Elementary to Rogers. My oldest son and my daughter both attended Rogers before going to Staley and now Memorial. My youngest son is a third grader at Rogers this year.
I attended Baylor University in Waco and then transitioned to Baylor Nursing School in Dallas where I graduated with BSN in nursing. I began my career at Children’s Medical Center, now Children’s Health, in Dallas and specialized in pediatric cancer and blood disorders. I married my high school sweetheart and we moved to Frisco to raise our family. After 12 years of inpatient care, I left Children’s to be a stay at home mom. I began substitute nursing for FISD that same month at Bright Elementary. In 2012, we moved only a short distance and lucked out living next door to and across the street from two great teachers that taught at Rogers. Word got around and at the start of the school year I began substituting only at Rogers and have been here ever since. Throughout the years, I have also been a volunteer at Rogers. I have volunteered in the class, on field trips, for PTA and PTA Board.
Rogers holds a special place in my heart! And, so do your kids. I look forward to meeting and caring for your children at Rogers. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s health and well-being.
