Hello! My name is Michele Hunt and I am thrilled to begin my 8th year as the Librarian at Purefoy for the 2025-2026 school year. I am a former 2nd-grade teacher and also worked as an elementary library aide for several years.  I received my undergraduate degree in Learning Technologies from UNT and my master's degree in Library and Information Studies at TWU.

I LOVE to read and have since I was a child... but as a parent, my kids were not all readers initially. I am an advocate of free choice in book selection and I strive to find books that your kids will love, even if they don't yet love reading. I also love crafting and DIY projects, especially doing room and furniture refreshes, and binge watching series on TV. In addition, I enjoy serving our life group and with the elementary students at our church.

I have been married for 29 years to my high school sweetheart, Chris, who is an IT operations manager. We have 3 adult sons, 1 daughter-in-love, 1 grandson and 2 spoiled rotten dogs who keep us busy. Our family loves to travel (especially epic road trips!), go hiking,  watch movies, and play games. All three of our boys are graduates of Frisco ISD and were active in the band. Our oldest, Collin, is a mechanic. His wife, Chloe, is an assistant Band Director. And we are so excited to have our first grandbaby, Ewan Samuel, born in August 2025. Ian, our middle son, who loves all things science and technology, graduated from UNT this past spring with a degree in Computer Engineering. He is also very active with the elementary, youth and young adult programs at our church. Our youngest, Logan, is finishing up his core requirements at Collin College. He is an accomplished trombone player and plans to get his degree in Music Education and be a band director.
