My student is interested in playing harp in the 2024-2025 school year! What do I need to know?
Students interested in harp may audition for the harp program on piano. Students must have 2 or more years of piano experience.
If you are interested in auditioning or just want to learn more about the harp program, please fill out this Google form by January 31, 2025 or email Dana Peck at peckda@friscoisd.org
There is a $100/year Frisco ISD instrument fee that each student pays to use the school instruments.

Will harpists participate in orchestra concerts? Yes! Harpists participate in all orchestra events that correspond with their orchestra. 6th graders play with Beginning Orchestra, 7th graders with Intermediate, and 8th graders with Advanced. This includes all performances, festivals, and social events. Please be sure to check the orchestra calendar for all performance dates.
Should I look through the orchestra website? Yes! Please check out the orchestra handbook, calendar, booster club, and practice tools in particular.

I want to look for a home harp, what resources are available? See this link for a non-exhaustive list. There are many ways to find a good instrument! Can I take private harp lessons? How do I find a teacher? Private harp lessons are not offered on campus during class, unlike the other instruments. However, students are highly encouraged to take private lessons outside of school! Private lessons are very important for solo performance skills, participating in competitions, and reaching one’s full potential. Students will receive information in class on how to find a private teacher.

Where can I find information about upcoming events, especially concerts and the Annual Harp Recital? Information will be emailed out and also posted below as it becomes available. Please check it carefully!
How do I know when/where/how to move a harp? All harpist families are asked to help with harp moving 1-3 times throughout the year. Once the calendar is set, a Google form will be sent out to determine harp moving for each event. Once that schedule has been made, it will be printed for students as well as posted here:
