HOMEWORK FAQs

  • Spelling Homework: Each Monday, your child will bring home a spelling list (yellow paper) for that week’s spelling words. Students are asked to study their words during the week at home to prepare for their spelling test on Friday. Your child does not need to turn anything in for their spelling homework. Spelling lists are updated weekly.

  • Reading Homework: Reading homework packet will be sent home at the beginning of each month.  This will include a place to log their nightly reading. We encourage students to read 20 minutes nightly. It will also include a space for a response that they will turn in each Friday. Students will earn tickets for their participation in completing their weekly and monthly reading homework. Again, please help us support your child in creating responsible homework habits at home.

  • Math Homework: Our weekly math homework is an extension of the learning happening in class. It will typically be given on Mondays and brought back to school on Fridays. Homework will be just 2–4 questions on a half sheet of paper and will not be graded.  Students will earn tickets for work completion for practicing their math skills at home.
