➗ How Can You Help Your Child With Math?

There are lots of simple ways you can support your child with Math at home! Take a few minutes to ask your kiddo about what they are learning in class and have them explain a strategy or show you how they would solve a problem. 🧠✏️

Encourage your child to practice their multiplication facts, work through a few practice problems, or even find ways to use Math in everyday life—cooking, shopping, telling time, measuring, or figuring out money!

Feel free to check out our “Supporting Math at Home” document for lots of ideas and resources that share the many ways you can help your child strengthen their Math skills at home.

The goal isn't to reteach the lesson at home, but to give your child opportunities to practice, explain their thinking, and build confidence with Math. A little practice and conversation can go a long way!

🔬 How Can You Help Your Child With Science?

One simple way to support your child in Science this year is to check out our ongoing Science vocabulary list! 📚

Take a few minutes to ask your kiddo what they believe each word means. They don’t have to have the perfect definition—just talking about the vocabulary and making connections is helpful!

Understanding our Science vocabulary will help your child better understand and apply the concepts we are learning in class. A little practice at home can make a BIG difference! 🌎⚡🧪

Want to help your child become a stronger reader? 📚

Strong reading skills help children comprehend and understand information across all subject areas, not just Reading!

Check out our Great Thinking Stems link for helpful questions and conversation starters you can use at home to encourage your child to think more deeply about what they’re reading. These are great tools for helping our kiddos become thoughtful, confident readers!
