Colorín Colorado.org is the leading national website serving parents and educators of English language learners (ELLs) in Grades PreK-12. There is information about Books and Authors, as well as information and activities for families.

This site is hosted by Jon Scieszka, the author of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs and the Caldecott Honor Book The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales. He created the site to help motivate boys to read by connecting them with books that interest them.
This is one of my favorite sites! KidSpace is presented by the Internet Public Library, which is a public library for the World Wide Web. This site contains links and descriptions of web sites about all of your favorite books and authors. You can search for information and even ask a librarian a question.
This site provides information for kids about their favorite books. It has book reviews, tips on cool new books, and a section on books that are coming soon. It also has information on your favorite book series and authors. Don't forget to check out their newsletters!
LearnEnglish Kids is hosted by the British Council. It has lots of free online games, songs, stories and activities for children to have fun and learn English too. You can select the language for the site in a menu at the top.
This site is home to the adventures of Scholastic's Magic School Bus. You can take a guided tour of the Magic School Bus with Liz and see video clips and games based on the books.
This site is the place to visit to explore everything about the the Magic Tree House books. It has fun activities, information about all the books, and a Passport that lets you collect stamps for each book that you have read.
This site is sponsored by the National Geographic Society, and lets kids discover new stories, watch videos, play games, and take polls, all while learning about our world.
This game was developed by the University of Texas at Austin School of Information to help students learn the Dewey Decimal System. The three games include Sorting, Shelving, and Reordering.
Beginning readers and their parents will delight in PBS KIDS Island, where kids can play free reading games and activities with their parents, teachers, and caregivers. The games make learning to read fun by featuring many of the popular PBS KIDS characters from Sesame Street, Super Why, and others. The site is available in both English and Spanish. Just select your language at the top.

This site explains how children can become more confident readers and writers. There is a great Bookfinder that allows you to find new books to read based on themes such as sports and friends. You can also find reading activities and lists of great books.
This site is full of information on a variety of children's books and authors. It has tips on new books, series information, and games.
This site is home to Seussville, which is Dr. Seuss' playground and contains everything about Dr. Seuss. It has videos, games, and activities based on your favorites such as The Cat and the Hat and Horton.
This site contains advice and material for teaching Spanish to children. I have included the link to the Home Page, but there is also a section on Books and Stories that has Spanish printable books and book recommendations.
This is a fun, interactive we site that helps teach kids to read. The site has books and activities that promote reading fluency and comprehension. It is best for students in grades PreK to 2nd grade.
This site features actors and celebrities reading children's books. It is an online streaming video program sponsored by the Screen Actors Guild. There is an A to Z Book Directory of videos, and each story includes an Activity Guide.
