Anna Nasset is the owner of Stand Up Resources, which provides training on stalking, sexual assault, victim services, suicide awareness, workplace culture, bystander prevention and more.
Anna has been an on-going victim of stalking by a man she does not know for the last decade and turns her experience of sexual and psychological abuse into that of speaking, outreach, and activism. In 2019 the offender received the maximum sentence for aggravated felony stalking, ten years. With her newfound freedom, Anna now works to change the story, to stand up and speak up, to educate others on sex related crimes, trauma, victim impact, and empowerment. She is passionate about assisting first responders, victim service providers, and community members in protecting and serving stalking victims.
Anna is an international speaker, writer, podcaster, and designer. She works with law enforcement, victim service agencies, state and local agencies, the Department of Defense, universities, businesses, and organizations to be part of the solution. She is an authority on addressing stalking, sexual assault, suicide prevention, bystander intervention, navigating the criminal justice system, empathy, believability, the importance of multidisciplinary teams, and works to educate people on victim-centered practices. Anna addresses these complex subjects with her energetic nature and positive voice for change, awareness, and justice.
Anna is an associate board member with EVAWI, a collaborative partner with Difference Makers 10 Strong, and Appriss VINElink. She hosts a podcast, “The Mend” (sponsored by the Center for Crime Victim Services), which focuses on topics and services to support crime victims. She resides in the Green Mountains of Vermont with her 3-legged chihuahua, Dolly Parton, where she is also working on her first book.
Sergeant Greg Bacon is a 17-year veteran of the Tempe Police Department and currently assigned to the Traffic Bureau as a sergeant. From 2015-2019, Greg served as a Detective within the Special Victims Unit. During his time as a SVU Detective, Greg utilized a victim-centered approach and worked closely with a City of Tempe CARE 7 Victim Advocate to ensure a trauma-informed approach was conducted. During his tenure, he assisted in developing the now implemented policy requiring detectives to utilize victim advocates with all sex crime related investigations from beginning to end. In addition, Greg has provided instruction to all members of the Tempe Police Department related to the Maricopa County Sex Assault Investigation Protocol.
Dr. Jim Harris Is the Associate Director of the West Virginia Autism Training Center at Marshall University. He has had several roles in the health and human services field throughout his career as an early interventionist, parent educator, educational consultant, university professor, and behavioral health therapist.
Dr. Harris has presented at a variety of conferences from the local to the international levels on such topics as behavioral intervention, parenting, positive behavior support, trauma-informed care, organizational change, and many more.
He is the creator of “10 Things You Need to Know About Kids”, an audio program that helps parents and teachers be more effective in their work with children. He has also worked with a variety of public and private entities including the Fred Rogers Company, United States Department of Education, the United States Department of Justice, and many more.
Jennifer Landhuis has been an advocate and educator on the issues of stalking, domestic violence, and sexual assault for the last 19 years. Jennifer is a consultant with the Stalking Resource Center of the National Center for Victims of Crime where she provides training and technical assistance to enhance the ability of professionals, organizations, and systems to effectively respond to stalking. She is also currently the Director of Social Change at the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence where she designs and facilitates research-based local, state and national trainings on domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault to build the capacity of criminal justice, social justice and healthcare systems to ensure safety and social and emotional well-being of victims and accountability for offenders.
Ms. Landhuis oversees state-level multi-disciplinary collaborative seeking broader systems outcomes and improving inter agency response, including the Idaho Coordinated Response to Sexual & Domestic Violence and The Idaho Victims Assistance Academy. Jennifer is a Domestic Violence instructor for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, a consultant with the Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center, an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Department of Boise State, and has her Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati.
