Culinary Magnet Program: 5-Star Cafe Service Contract

I. Service Requirement

Every student is required to complete a minimum of 5 days of volunteer service within the 5-Star Cafe per marking period.

• Shift Duration: A "day" of service is defined as one full lunch block. Lunch will be provided as a "Family Meal." 

• Deadline: All 5 days must be completed and logged no later than one week prior to the end of the current marking period.

II. Student Responsibilities

By signing this contract, the student agrees to the following professional standards:

• Punctuality: Students must arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled shift to prep and change into uniform.

• Uniform Compliance: Full culinary attire is required (clean chef coat, hat/toque, non-slip shoes, and apron).

• Professionalism: Students must maintain a positive attitude, follow all food safety protocols, and provide excellent customer service.

• Documentation: It is the student's responsibility to ensure their service hours are signed off by a Culinary Instructor or Cafe Manager immediately following the shift.

III. Grading & Performance

• Weight: Completion of these 5 days accounts for a significant portion of the "Professionalism/Participation" grade for the marking period.

• Failure to Comply: Failure to meet the 5-day requirement may result in a grade reduction and a review of the student's standing within the Magnet Program.
