Freeman Public School's continued enrollment growth is exciting for the school district and community. Clark & Enersen's facility study gave the district several ideas to think about, including a concept plan for a renovation and addition developed with Freeman's current needs and priorities in mind. Five specific priorities were identified based on our needs:
Safe and Secure Entrances
Career and Technical Education
Kitchen
Cafeteria and Commons Spaces
Pre-School
Future Growth
Feedback the district received from parents, patrons, and staff indicated the need for a plan for future growth in the elementary. This concept plan allows for future classrooms to be built South of the elementary if/when needed.
Estimated Costs
The school board approved a bond resolution for the project not to exceed $26,910,000. This equates to approximately $480/SF for the proposed 18,374 SF renovation and 35,420 SF new additions. It is difficult to determine an exact price tag for the proposed concept plan due to the everchanging costs of materials and labor. These estimates are not final and subject to change.
