Freeman Public School

15-Year Enrollment Growth

When Freeman was established in 1998, we had approximately 315 K-12 students. Today, we have over 470. Specifically, Freeman has seen a 33% increase in K-12 enrollment over the past 15 years, a trend that is likely to continue. For example, the 2024-25 senior class has 32 students. By contrast, Freeman's secondary grades (7-12) average 37 students.  In addition, two elementary classes are considered full based on enrollment limits.

As part of a long-range strategic planning process that began in 2021, Freeman developed the following goal regarding facilities and infrastructure:

Guiding Principle: Growth-Ready Facilities and Infrastructure

The Freeman Public Schools Board of Education and community will engage in continuous planning to ensure district facilities and infrastructure meet the needs of Freeman students and will take the necessary steps to maintain, alter, and improve facilities as deemed necessary.

In August 2022, the Freeman School Board approved Clark & Enersen Architectural Firm to conduct a facility study. This facility study was completed in June 2023. Five priorities were identified based on the needs of the district:

Safe and  Secure Entrances

Career and Technical Education

Kitchen

Cafeteria and Commons Spaces

Pre-School

Two campus improvement priorities have also been identified by the district:

Parking

Athletic Green Space
