When Franklin County business leaders are asked what characteristics they look for in new hires, they name strategic thinking, problem solving, self-reliance, flexibility, emotional intelligence, communication skills, accountability, teamwork, and grit¹ . The traits our local business leaders seek are the very habits of mind New Tech @ Gereau works to instill in our students.
In New Tech Network schools, outcomes that matter guide our schools’ support of students and their long-term success. Our Student Learning Outcomes are research-based and aimed at preparing students for college and career success. New Tech @ Gereau facilitators use rubrics based on these learning outcomes to assess student work, and students are provided with regular feedback on their growth and needs in each of these areas.
