Hello! Thanks for wanting to know a little bit more about me!
Although I work at Main Road School, I live in Marlton in a great community called Kings Grant. I am happily married and have two adult children -- Alex (28) and Hayley (26).
I also have an amazing granddaughter named Francesca! Besides wandering around Kings Grant, I also spend a lot of time in Ocean City, NJ. This is my 20th year as an educator. For the first half of my career, I was a fourth-grade teacher and have been teaching Basic Skills since 2014. Every year brings new challenges and new learning, and this year is no exception with the addition of our intervention classrooms for ELA instruction. So far it's been a lot of fun!
I have an undergraduate degree in Communications from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and worked for quite a few years in the business world. I also took some time off to stay home with my kids. I returned to college and earned a Master of Science in Teaching, along with my teaching certification, from Rowan University in 2005. Additionally, I am highly qualified in the area of English Language Arts.
My favorite pastime is traveling! I have been all over the US (even Alaska!), Europe, and the Caribbean. I adore cruising, so if you know of a really great itinerary to somewhere exciting, please let me know! I also love to read and write, spend time with my family, listen to music, play games, watch reality TV, and eat popcorn. I can get a little silly with my students (because learning should be fun), but I also expect everyone to work hard when it's time to get serious about learning. Watching my students grow as readers is the most fulfilling part of my job!
