Over the last two years I have lead the task of creating and implementing a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Program for Philo Junior High School.
I began evaluating behavior data for our building in January 2022. Over the course of January-June, myself and my assistant principal evaluated behavior reports on multiple levels to determine the top priorities in student behaviors within our school building.
Through data analysis, it was clear that our behavior system was not longer effective for the staff and students at PJHS. With this evidence it was time to create a new behavior plan to implement in our school building. I researched and presented the option of a PBIS program in order to give us the opportunity to teach our students some of the behavior management skills they may not receive at home.
Together as a team we have worked to build a PBIS program that is suitable for our junior high staff and students.
