The Office of Assemblyman Joe Danielsen is beginning to look for legislative interns for the spring. Interns must be at least 16 years old and reside in our district (Franklin, New Brunswick, North Brunswick, Piscataway, and South Bound Brook). It is an unpaid internship, but a great opportunity to learn how a state office functions and get involved with the community. St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center has opportunities for students, ages 15+ interested in volunteering as Critter Camp counselors https://www.sthuberts.org/kids-camps at our Madison location (575 Woodland Ave.).
Critter Camps are designed to educate and inspire youth to practice a lifestyle of compassion, respect, and empathy through the humane treatment of animals.
St. Hubert’s hosts Critter Camps for elementary aged children (grades 3-8) and are seeking high schoolers to join our team as volunteer counselors supervising and supporting the campers. Please note that this is not an animal handling role.
Qualifications include prior experience working with children and an enthusiastic/outgoing personality! Duties include supervising and engaging with campers during educational presentations, leading games, assisting with crafts, set up/clean up duties before/after camp each day, and ensuring a fun camp experience for all campers!
Camp dates are listed below. Daily volunteer hours are approximately 8:30am-1:15pm. An application can be completed online.
November 6 & 7-must be available both days (8:30am-1:15pm)

2026 Youth Task Force seeking Volunteers
St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ, is accepting applications for our spring 2026 Youth Task Force https://www.sthuberts.org/youth-task-force . Our spring session runs January-mid June. The program allows teens, ages 15-17 the opportunity to volunteer hands-on with our shelter animals. The program requires a weekly commitment over a 5-month period, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to work well independently, with other teens, and an adult lead. Candidates must be able to successfully function in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Required tasks include fundraising, socializing with animals, taking photos, and writing animal feedback notes. Candidates should understand the reality of an animal shelter environment- while working with animals, we often get dirty, it can physically demanding work, and the dogs don’t mind a little drizzle or the snow! Candidates should be ENERGETIC and eager to work! Designed for teens dedicated to animal welfare, this opportunity is for those ready to take meaningful action.

The Edison chapter of ACEing Autism, a non-profit program that is all about helping children with autism to grow, develop and benefit from social connections and fitness through affordable tennis programming. ACEing Autism has already established over 126 programs nationwide that run clinics to help thousands of kids with autism.
This is a 5-week session during the summer at Papaianni Park and were met with lots of success and excitement. ACEing Autism is looking to start another fall session, on September 27th through November 1st from 2pm-4pm at Edison High School. Any interested students can sign up to help out and get some quality hours of volunteering.
