2026 - Team Finish Recap
The wrestling team competed at the GHSA 2AA Traditional State Championships this past weekend and finished as the State Runner-Ups. This is the highest placement in school history! On the biggest stage, this team answered the call and delivered.
The team had seven state placers:
106 – Colt Carroll – State Runner-Up
120 – Sam Williams – 3rd Place
132 – Kaydon Roberts – 3rd Place
144 – Trey Silva – 3rd Place
150 – Josh Baughcum – State Champion
165 – Zane Puff – 3rd Place
G-170 – Hannah Crowe – 4th Place
Also representing Franklin County at the State Championships were Hogan Ayers, Jaxon Norwood, Colton Roberts, Hunter Nichols, and Braiden Comeau. Each of these wrestlers competed hard and contributed to the team’s historic runner-up finish.
We are incredibly proud of this group and the way they represented Franklin County on the biggest stage.

The Lions Varsity Wrestling Team competed at the 2A Area 8 Tournament, where the team finished second overall, with all 12 wrestlers earning their spot at Sectionals. The results included five champions, three runner-ups, two third-place finishes, and two fourth-place finishes.

The Lions are the Region 8-2A Area Dual Champions. The guys went into Area Duals with one focus: do their job. Young wrestlers stepped into roles they hadn’t been in before and came through, while our older guys led the way and kept everyone focused. Our fans brought great energy and support that made a real difference.
We could not be more proud of this team and what they have accomplished so far.
With the area title secured, the Lions now advance to the GHSA State Duals at East Jackson High School on January 16–17. We’d love to see everyone come out and support our guys as they take on State Duals.

Middle School Season
The Middle School Wrestling Team finished out in Third Place Region Duals. At Peach State Traditionals the Cubs had three placers Aydan Threlkeld, Rhett Davidson, and Travaden Davis who all placed 3rd.

The Lions finished off at State with 7 State Placers. Nate Stratton won state. Jonah Burger, Kaydon Roberts, and Josh Baughcum all got third place. Aden Pirkle and William Ballenger placed fourth. Zane Puff placed sixth at state. The Lions captured Third Place in Team Points taking home a trophy. The Lions had an impressive season
