To retrace the steps of the 1964 freedom marchers, start in Downtown Frankfort and cross the Capital Avenue bridge (which also known as War Mothers Memorial Bridge). Walk past Second Street (Rebecca Ruth Candies is to your left) and continue up Capital Avenue to the steps of the State Capitol, where Kentucky leaders welcomed Dr. Martin Luther King, Jackie Robinson and other national civil rights legends.
