In March of 2016, an incident occurred during a basketball game between Farmington High School and Capital Prep. This incident was not a great moment for FHS, and two FHS students felt that one incident did not show the best of FHS. The students wanted to start a club called the Social Justice Club. This club was the starting point of multiple Social Justice based clubs being formed at FHS by students, and students in these clubs have led the work for Social Justice Week each year since 2017.
