When the Provinces and Centre were split, more autonomy was given to the Provinces along with the removal of the diarchy. The Governor was made the controller of the Executive. There was also the Council of Ministers to guide him, but the Ministers were controlled by the Provincial Legislatures while in Provincial affairs. The Legislatures of the Provinces could control and remove the Ministers. Although the Governors still had a specific reserve power.

Unlike how the diarchy was abolished in the provinces, there was a diarchy put in place in the Centre. the people under the Center were divided into the "Reserved" and "Transferred". The subjects in the Reserved were administered by the Governor with the three counselors that he put in place. the subjects worked on the "defense, ecclesiastical affairs (church-related), external affairs, press, police, taxation, justice, power resources, and tribal affairs." The Transferred side was the Governor and the Council of Ministers, they delt with the local government, health, and education.

Analysis: The Government of India Act of 1935 helped prepare India for independent rule, therefore having a positive impact on India. Revising the old government that was made to be supervised by Britain into a more self-sustaining government prepared India for independent rule by having more Indian representatives and workers in the government. By doing this, the British slowly start to disconnect from India, which is positive for India in the long run because they will know more about how to run their own government without Britain before eventually gaining freedom.
