Legislature role/consent:
Provincial Legislatives were commonly elected, over the years elections for members have increased, in 1919 around 70% could be elected. Those who were elected were elected by the Govenor/General.
The Legislative Assembly and the Council of state (lower house) were the two included houses from the bicameral legislature.
The Governors assent was responsible for passing bills, and vetoing, but they could also manage, limit questions, adjournment, and even debate.
Voters could include some women, Landowners who pay property fees, experienced legislative council, members of university senate, and titled individuals.
Council of State/ Indian
Males of the Council of state would be given a five-year tenure, roles by those would be to ask questions, and determine what 25% of their budget will be used for.
Three measures include committees' conferences and sitting government generals.
Assent would be required for bills to become laws.
For the Indian council, 8/12 were Indians, and half had given themselves 10 years or more in experience.
Salaries for the Indian council would be around £1200.
Central government
Though 8/12 were Indians in the council, 3/8 of viceroy's executive council were Indian.
Government generals would ensure ordinances if needed too and certify bills if rejected.
