Howdy!
Its week 2 of our unit on US Citizenship. Last week, you focused on the parts of the Constitution, the supreme law of the land in the United States. This week, we will take a closer look at the Legislative and Executive Branches of the government.
Monday: Go to Google classroom to find the EdPuzzle about the branches of the government. Complete the EdPuzzle for today's points.
Tuesday: Watch and read about how a Bill becomes a law, then complete the Google classroom quiz to show what you know!
Wednesday: Learn about the other functions of Congress, besides making laws. Use the Constitution (and my interpretations) as your guide to discover the other roles for members of Congress.
Thursday: The Executive Branch is the focus. What are the basic jobs of the Presidents ( and a few fun facts about the job). Complete the quiz in Google classroom.
Friday: Whose job is it? Use direct quotes from the Constitution, infographics, and a few Presidential quotes to decide whose job it is to complete the tasks (in Google classroom).
Also - next week, the Supreme Court will be our focus, and due to the Corona virus, you can actually hear the Supreme Court live! Starting tomorrow, for the next two weeks, they will livestream the oral arguments of each side. This is a link to one place you can get more information, and see what the upcoming cases will be - how cool is that???? Hope to see you the week of May 18-22!!
All the best,
Mrs. Goss
