The NHS National Constitution mandates that each chapter of the National Honor Society must conduct at least one chapter service project each year, in which each member is expected to contribute. The Osage Chapter service project is our CSL Haunted House.
The annual Harvesters Haunted House, an over 25-year tradition, raises money and non-perishable food for the local food pantry. NHS members spend about two months planning, organizing, and creating ten different Halloween-themed rooms for elementary-age students to walk through. Members are in charge of crafting all decorations and costumes for their theme, donating candy to be handed out to children, and setting up/taking down the haunted house on the night of.
