How Can You Become a Member of Fort Osage National Honor Society?
To be considered for National Honor Society, one must display high academics, a desire to provide service to others, a knack for leading, and strive for success through challenges and accomplishments. If you believe you inhabit all of these qualities and have not received an application, email either of our advisers: kgravely@fortosage.net or hdailey@fortosage.net
Eligibility Requirements
Students in grades 10 - 12 who meet the scholarship requirement for membership are invited to apply.
Scholarship
Students who have met the standard of excellence with a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher are eligible for membership into NHS.
Students in grades 10 - 12 who have met the scholarship requirement must petition for membership through the application process and demonstrate they meet the additional qualifications for membership.
Service
Students must make voluntary contributions to the school or community, without compensation.
Leadership
Students must have leadership experience drawn from school or community activities while working with or for others.
Character
Students must display good character and maintain a clean disciplinary record.
Understanding the Obligations of Membership
Students who apply and accept membership and are inducted in the Fort Osage Chapter should be aware of the time and commitment involved with this honor. Students are required to attend monthly meetings and participate in chapter and individual service projects. Ready to Apply?
In order to apply for membership, students must have a weighted cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. In February of each academic school year, application invitation letters are sent to students who have met the GPA requirement. If you received this letter, you have officially been invited to apply for membership. A short informational meeting will occur within a few weeks of receiving the letter. Students will be given a timeline for application process as well as pick up application packets in this meeting. Application packets can also be downloaded by clicking HERE.
