Attendance
Students must maintain a 90% attendance rate or above to be successful in school.
Students are expected to arrive on time for class and to come prepared to learn.
Along with being present in the classroom, students must be engaged in their work.
Assignment Expectations
Assignments will be worked on in class. If a student does not complete the work, he or she will complete the assignment at home.
Students are expected to complete their assignments on time and turn them in to the teacher.
Late work policy
If an assignment is late, the student will be notified by the teacher. The student will be offered extra time to complete the work with assistance from the teacher.
All work will be given the points earned by the student.
The student will complete the work within the time allowed by the teacher or he or she will not receive credit for the assignment.
Re-take Policy
Students must contact the teacher for permission to redo an assignment or test.
The work will be completed in the classroom with the teacher present.
Test retakes are given orally and one to one in the room. They may be done by appointment before or after school.
The teacher will provide a welcoming space for students to learn.
The teacher will practice open communication with parents through TalkingPoints. Parents will receive updates on their student's performance with phone calls, TalkingPoints messages, emails, and conferences.
The teacher is committed to providing students with quality instruction and guidance for learning.
Student work will be graded in a timely manner for immediate feedback, and the grade book will be updated each week.
Parents and guardians will help the teacher to get to know their child.
If there is something going on at home that is impacting their student, parents and guardians will notify the teacher. The teacher does not need details, but she does need to know if a student is stressed.
Parents and guardians will work with the school to do what is best for their children.
