“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” — Maya Angelou
Teaching and learning have always been a passion of mine. I was a bookworm from the moment I could read. I grew up in a large family of 12 children and finding a quiet place was not always easy. I would hide in different spots in the house so that I could enjoy the story unfolding in the text before me. Later, after driving my siblings crazy with playing school where I was the teacher, I decided that I would be an English teacher and put them out of their misery. I wasn't sure how that would happen, but I was determined to fulfill my dream.
Working with students and watching them learn and grow is one of the greatest joys in my life. We all want your children to succeed. We have spent years preparing for this moment, to be the difference in your students' lives. There is nothing more rewarding than working with a family to help a child succeed.
This is my thirty-third year as an educator and it just doesn't seem possible. No, I don't have any plans of retirement. Instead, I have plans to enjoy everyday working with my colleagues to plan and develop the best possible circumstances and environment for our students.
Thank you
