Dear Viking Families,
Our Leader in Me Measurable Results Assessment survey is in full swing! Thank you to you all who have already completed this. This tool gives us valuable insight into how we’re doing and helps us set our school’s Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) for the year. Our goal is to hear from 200 families, and your voice truly matters. Your feedback helps us continue to grow as a community igniting the joy of learning and inspiring leaders. This is a time to brag about VCE! The data we gather will be presented to our Legacy reviewers on November 17th. It is an important artifact to see the sustained impact of the impact of our school mission beyond our school walls.
We have some exciting opportunities starting just around the corner. Curriculum Night is next week and our format allows you to hear from your teacher as well as explore curriculum resources and understand our Pathways and the process our school follows to identify what students need. If you visit all the spots and get stickers, be sure to turn in your card for a prize before you leave. While supplies last! We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday and hope you leave with not only a better understanding of what your child will learn this year academically, but how our school's focus is always creating and sustaining a community that ignites the joy of learning and inspires leaders.
Before I close, I want to thank so many of you for your support and love as I moved my oldest daughter to college this past weekend. It was a monumental moment in our lives; one I feel like we have been preparing for this for a few years now. However, nothing quite prepared me for the moment we returned home without her with us. As exciting and proud as we are of her new chapter, it is a new normal we are adjusting to without her. Being able to see the next chapter unfold for her from my perspective here is an honor and something I am extremely grateful for.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We value your feedback and partnership—it helps us stay connected, responsive, and focused on what matters most.
With gratitude and care,
Elizabeth Ihle
We are thrilled to celebrate three outstanding educators who make a massive difference in our school community every single day. Nominated through last year's Spirit of the Viking recognitions and by our community this year, these teachers embody leadership, passion, and an unwavering commitment to shaping young minds.
They don't just teach—they ignite a love for learning, foster critical thinking, and encourage our students to live out the 8 Habits in everything they do.
Please join us in honoring and congratulating our 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year Finalists.
Each of these educators brings a unique, inspirational perspective to our classrooms, representing the very best of our school.
Information about VCE's extracurricular activites including Precess, Chorus, Battle of the Books, Drama, Legos, and Kickball will be shared
We have partnered with BPI for our school pictures this year! Please see the information your child brough home about picture day on August 31st.
