GA Milestones Resources
GA Milestones Resources
Stamina. Confidence. Commitment.
Stamina - the ability to sustain prolonged mental effort - is fostered in our students DAILY through GA Standards of Excellence aligned lessons, activities, and interventions. One way to build student endurance for the milestones is practicing with a similar online platform - in this case, Progress Learning!
Confidence - the feeling or belief that you CAN do it - comes from seeing our own growth! Haw Creek uses Classroom Data Chats to show students how their hard work is impacting their academic learning using the Universal Screening process on the i-Ready platform.
Commitment - the dedication to an activity -stems from creating Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) aligned to our academic achievement. We focus on the habit of consistently and proactively completing practices that impact our goal of academic growth - and then we celebrate our success!
Links to resources for GA Milestones are at the top of this page. Use the buttons to review these with your student.

Use your Be Proactive Strategies to build Stamina, Confidence, and Commitment to preparing for Milestones this year! Some suggestions are:
15 minute windows each day until you complete a challenge at home.
Consider stretching your stamina by planning for 30-60 minute windows when possible
Parents - you CAN help with this process and even work throught problems and how to use the tools together.
Remember, the GOAL is not ONLY how many did I get right, it's "how long am I able to focus" and "do I know how to answer the questions" - you've got this, Huskies!
Challenge #1 March 9 – March 20
Challenge #2 March 23 – April 3
Challenge #3 April 13 – April 24
FAQs: GA Milestones Testing
UPDATED 2/20/2026
QUESTION: What's the minimum score for my child to pass Milestones?
Response: Milestones scoring bands are roughly:
Beginning Learner: Needs substantial academic support (roughly 140–474).
Developing Learner: Needs additional support to succeed (roughly 475–524).
Proficient Learner: Prepared for the next grade level (roughly 525–575+).
Distinguished Learner: Advanced proficiency and well-prepared (roughly 575–800+).
These bands may vary based on content area (ELA, Math or Science) and grade level. The passing designation is a Proficient Learner indicating they are independently capable of most skills in the current grade level.
QUESTION: Will Milestones determine if my child progresses to the next grade level?
Response: Decisions to retain students are not solely dependent on Milestones scores but look at the whole child. A parent conference will be scheduled with teachers and administration to review the academic, instructional intervention, and attendance data if a student may be considered for retention.
QUESTION: For their practice test held during March and April, can my child take multiple times?
Response: YES! The practice tests in Progress Learning allow for you to take them again to increase your score. AND the tests available in the GA Milestones website also allow you to retake them as many times as possible. GREAT question!
QUESTION: I never got my child's 3rd grade results last year, where can I get those?
Response: 2024-25 Georgia Milestones EOG and EOC results are available in Parent Portal for students in grades 3-8 and high school EOC courses.
Individual Score Reports (ISRs) contain detailed information about your child's performance, and are available in SLDS Portal via Campus/Parent Portal. You can find assessment results for your child by using the following steps.
