Milestone's Week is Coming!
Milestones are here next week and we are READY! WE have built our stamina, confidence, and shown our commitment to readiness as we completed our Progress Learning challenge, worked on practice questions in class, and explored the tools on the online platform. Time to show what we know and we are ready to go!
As we enter testing week, please see the reminders to relaxing and recharging after school in mind. Start your day with a positive mindset and a good breakfast. Spend some time moving your body and getting some fresh air when you can! Finally, we are so proud of our kids and their hardwork this year - let's celebrate our kids in this showcase time of the year!
And believe it or not, next Friday kicks off May Madness and the race to the end of the year! With spring sports in full gear, nice weather outside, and every possible performance and team celebration on the calendar - it can get busy around here! Kee up with our information in our Husky Herald, staff newsletters, and on our website and social media!

FCS Milestones Letter - 2026
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Feedback is a powerful tool for improvement. Sports teams watch films after a game to get feedback on areas of strength and areas of improvement to play better in the next game. Businesses ask for reviews on a product or service which provides feedback to improve products or services. In education, we use assessment results as feedback to analyze and improve student achievement.
The Georgia Milestones End of Grade (EOG) and End of Course (EOC) assessments are summative, end of year assessments, designed to provide data (feedback) about performance at a variety of levels (student, class, grade, school, district and state).
Results from the Georgia Milestones assessments provide feedback for students and parents to answer the following questions:
What has the student learned in the current grade/course?
What strengths does the student have going into the next grade/course?
What areas of support might the student need to be going into the next grade/course?
Results from Georgia Milestones assessments provide feedback for teachers and schools to answer the following questions:
What instructional strategies are teachers using that help students master standards?
What areas might teachers and grade levels need additional training and support?
Are programs/initiatives successful?
What else needs to be done instructionally for success?
Results from the Georgia Milestones assessments provide feedback for districts to answer the following questions:
Are the district instructional resources making a positive impact on learning? Do additional resources need to be purchased?
Is district professional learning effective? Does additional instructional training need to be provided?
The Georgia Milestones assessments will be administered in Forsyth County starting April 27, 2026. Please encourage your child to relax, show what they have learned, and help them understand their results are used to help them become the best student they can be!
Students in grades 5 and 8 who score at the Beginning Learner level will participate in the End of Grade retest at their schools on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The retest will provide students the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency on the Math EOG assessment. No English Language Arts retesting will take place this year due to the implementation of new state course standards.
Please feel free to contact your school’s administration or the FCS Assessment team if you have questions.
