Per GELDA, students are to be administered a universal reading screener three times a year with the first screening occurring within 30 school days of the beginning of the school year. Forsyth County Schools uses i-Ready, which has been approved by the Georgia State Board of Education (SBOE) for this purpose and can be used to identify students that are at risk of not attaining grade-level reading proficiency. We will screen all K-6 students using the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic with Foundational Reading Extension (FRE) and a Fluency Literacy Task three times per year:

The results of universal screening in foundational reading skills helps identify students who are at risk of reading difficulties and may need intervention
