This year, for the first time, many residents will receive an invitation encouraging them to complete the Census online. This invitation will arrive as a letter in an envelope, and will include a Census ID number that is unique to that household. (Example letter is shown below.) The letter will be addressed to the current resident of the household, not a specific person.
Some communities in Forsyth County will receive this letter in English and in Spanish, and some communities will receive both an invitation to complete the Census online and a paper copy of the questionnaire in their initial mailing.
The map below shows which parts of Forsyth County will be receiving which mailing options. “Internet First” households will only be receiving the letter in their first mailing, and “Internet Choice” households will be receiving a mailing and a paper copy of the questionnaire. Areas receiving bilingual mailers will receive letters, and in some cases questionnaires, in both English and Spanish.
Mailings will include instructions on responding to the Census by internet or phone in the following twelve languages, and residents will be able to answer the online questionnaire or call in their answers in these languages:
Households will receive an invitation to respond online to the 2020 Census. Some households will also receive paper questionnaires.
